Leicester interested in Kone
Leicester City are keen on signing Sunderland centre-back Lamine Kone, according to Chronicle Live.
The Foxes, as well as West Brom, are interested in signing Kone, who signed for Sunderland in January for £6 million.
The Ivorian international was one of the main reasons Sunderland’s defence improved in the second half of the season under now England manager Sam Allardyce.
The Black Cats eventually stayed up at the expense of their North East rivals, Newcastle.
It is unlikely that new boss David Moyes will want to sell Kone considering his defensive-minded philosophy and the fact Sunderland have not made any signings this summer meaning they would be lacking depth in the centre-back position. With only three weeks to the start of the season, losing a key player in Kone would be suicidal.
It is clear that Leicester are want to sign another defender this summer. having already signed Luis Hernandez from Sporting Gijon. The Foxes have already had several bids rejected by Burnley for Michael Keane.
