The 20-year-old Nigeria international was expected to have a big year after finishing a wonderful breakout season in 2015-2016 as City’s third-highest scorer with 14 goals in 35 appearances in all competitions.
However upon the arrival of new manager Pep Guardiola this past season, he has taken a backseat to January signing Gabriel Jesus resigning Iheanacho to a third-choice striker role.
The young forward clearly carries bags of potential as he finished his first professional season in Manchester with the best goals-per-minute ratio in the Premier League.
Iheanacho is just the striker Leicester need as The Foxes’ “Cinderella Story” stars failed to deliver for a second consecutive year as they finished in a disappointing 12th place spot in the league this past season.
On top of his natural eye for goal, the Nigerian’s power and pace will fit in hand in glove with The Foxes’ run-and-gun counter attacking style and will, to the hope of Leicester City fans, fulfill his massive potential.
