Leicester City seems to be ready for the Premier League and Champions League seasons, confirming its squad numbers for the coming year. The team appears to be keeping the numbers for all of the players from last season’s Premier League who are staying with the club, and their new signing Ahmed Musa will wear the No.8 shirt. Defender Luis Hernandez has been awarded the No.2 shirt. Other new signings have been awarded numbers too, with Bartosz Kapustka taking over No.14 from N’Golo Kante, who just signed with Chelsea – and Nampalys Mendy taking the No.24.
Outgoing Gokhan Inler, Ben Hamer, Tom Lawrence, Yohan Benalouane and Richie De Laet will not be taking any numbers and are expected to leave soon. Overall, this gives Leicester City a list of 23 top players, with a couple of their home-grown players (namely Demarai Gray and Chilwell) being too young to take up the challenge of the Leagues this time around. Assuming they stay on top form, they could well be given numbers in the years to come.
Leicester’s new squad
Leicester City has been busy signing up lots of new players, preparing for upcoming Leagues and fine tuning positions to ensure they play a good chance with the football odds. Betway is offering lots of betting deals on the football club in the run up to the early Premier League games, and their new signings could help them go up the ladder.
Their newest signing is Bartosz Kapustka, a Polish international winger who cost the team £7.5 million.
Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has also hinted that Leicester City may make some more signings during the summer transfer window, despite having confirmed their Premier League lineup, The manager spoke to the club on Wednesday 3rd August and said:
“It’s difficult to say ‘yes everything is finished’. Maybe something could happen during this final market if we had the opportunity to improve our squad, but at the moment we are okay.”
There has also been a rumour circulating that Arsenal is trying to take Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City, but the manager of the team has announced that he is ‘not for sale’. As the Arsenal rumour simply refuses to go away, the owner of the club, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha posted a comical picture on social media showing how much he values the player, holding him by the ears and suggesting he isn’t going anywhere.
So Leicester City is talking good game so far, but how they fare is yet to be seen. Football odds are being drawn up by Betway and you can already get some amazing odds for pre-League betting.
