Less than a year after winning the Premier League and despite his side being well in the Champions League tie with Sevilla, Leicester City have sacked manager Claudio Ranieri.
This season has not gone to plan for the Foxes and they find themselves in a relegation battle and the Italian manager has paid the price.
With 13 league games left to play, Leicester need to get somebody in pretty quickly and hope that they can hit the ground running and fight off the threat of relegation.
Here are the possible candidates who could take over at the King Power stadium:
Roberto Mancini
Could one former Premier League winner replace an outgoing one? Roberto Mancini is out of work as is looking for a new club. He seems a logical fit.
Gary Rowett
Gary Rowett was seen as one of the brightest young managers in the country when he was harshly sacked by Birmingham City, and they’ve been terrible since he left.
Alan Pardew
Alan Pardew has made a habit of doing a decent job with a club then things slowly falling apart. He could be the man to give the Foxes an early boost.
Nigel Pearson
According to Henry Winter of The Times, there are some Leicester players who want Nigel Pearson to return. He kept the Foxes up two years ago but whether he or the ownership would agree to a reunion is a whole other question.
Harry Redknapp
He’s been out of management for a while but Harry Redknapp would probably take the job, even on a short-term basis.
Martin O'Neill
Before Ranieri’s success, many saw Martin O’Neill as the shining light of Foxes managers. Whether he’d want the job and be willing to walk away from Ireland remains to be seen
Neil Lennon
Former Foxes midfielder Neil Lennon is currently at Hibs but he’d jump at the chance to join Leicester if offered the job.
Roy Hodgson
Roy Hodgson’s record of keeping teams up is pretty good. He’s been out of work since England’s humiliating Euro 2016 exit.
Frank de Boer
Frank de Boer has openly admitted that he’s looking for a job in England. The former Ajax boss is another who’d take the job if offered it.
Mark Warburton
Mark Warburton’s Rangers exit was a strange one, with the club saying he resigned and him saying he didn’t. He looks to be a good manger but lacks exeperience at the highest levels.
Avram Grant
Avram Grant is out of work after leaving his role as te manager of the Ghanaian national team. He knows England well but he does have a history of relegation which doesn’t bode too well!
