Leicester City appear to have poked fun at the deal to sign Adrien Silva from Sporting Clube de Portugal by handing him the number 14 shirt.

The Portuguese midfielder has finally started training with his team-mates after his move to the Premier League was held up.

The Foxes signed the midfielder as a replacement for Danny Drinkwater, who left for Chelsea on transfer deadline day.

Unfortunately for Leicester, they missed the deadline to register signings, by just 14 seconds.

Silva is now unable to play in any competitive fixtures until January but he can feature in behind-closed-doors friendlies in a bid to boost his match fitness.

The midfielder has been a long-term target for Leicester, so handing him the number 14 shirt is a light-hearted take on the deal that has been held up for some time.
