Former Southampton boss Puel linked with Leicester job
Former Southampton manager Claude Puel has been linked with the vacant job at the King Power Stadium.
The Telegraph reports that Leicester plan to speak to Puel, who left Southampton over the summer after just one season.
Many feel Puel was harshly treated by the Saints, who finished eighth and reached the League Cup final in his only season with the club. Despite the high finish, Puel’s style of football was not considered good enough and left little to write home about.
Popular manager Craig Shakespeare was sacked following the 1-1 home draw against West Brom, with Michael Appleton set to take over until a new manager is appointed.
Sean Dyche and David Wagner have also been linked with the job, but the former Premier League champions may be unable to lure them away from their respective positions at this stage of the season.
Director of football Jon Rudkin is said to be looking for someone with Premier League experience to take over.
