Ryan Giggs is interested in taking the Leicester City job, Sky Sports report.
The former Manchester United player has not yet been tasked with a role in football management, but has made it no secret that he is keen to take the reins at a top club in the near future.
Leicester are without a manager following the dismissal of Craig Shakespeare. Michael Appleton is currently the Foxes’ caretaker boss, but it’s understood that the search for a new manager is well underway.
Giggs mentioned his interest in the Everton job, as well. The Toffees confirmed that Ronald Koeman had been relieved of his duties as the manager of the club on Monday afternoon.
I think you look at those two teams, Leicester being champions two seasons ago, Everton being a fantastic club with a fantastic history, for me these are clubs I would be interested in.
However, there are a lot of coaches out there who would be interested in those positions.
Several names have been touted with a move to Leicester since Shakespeare’s departure, and Giggs is evidently interested in taking up the managerial post should he be a name under consideration.
I’ve said all along that I’d be open to clubs which share the ambitions of myself. I want to improve clubs and improve players, to enjoy working for them and for players to enjoy the challenge.
Leicester currently sit in 14th place on the Premier League table.
