Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell has spoken about the importance of home form after the Foxes beat Huddersfield Town 3-1 at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.
Chilwell told the club website that the team must win the majority of their home matches if they are to be in and around the European qualification slots.
The Foxes didn’t get off to the best of starts against the Terriers, with Mathias Jorgensen giving the visitors a fifth-minute lead.
However, Claude Puel’s men came back strongly and won the match with goals from Kelechi Iheanacho, James Maddison and Jamie Vardy.
The match was the club’s third at home in the Premier League this campaign, with a 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers and a 1-2 loss to Liverpool being the other two.
Before the game we said that home form would be massive this season, to get wins at home is a massive thing in the league
To get another home win was a massive positive and hopefully we can carry it on next week. I think to stay in this league and try to get into Europe, winning the majority of our games at home is going to be massive for us this season.
Picking up points away from home on the road is big for us as well, getting a win today was important to carry us through to next week.
Next up for Chilwell and his teammates is a trip to Wolves in the Carabao Cup tomorrow night before another journey to Newcastle United on Saturday.
