Leicester City winger Demarai Gray will reportedly be sidelined for ‘weeks rather than months’ after suffering an ankle injury against Wolverhampton Wanderers last night.
Sky Sports write that the 22-year-old suffered the injury whilst attempting to block a cross from Adama Traore in second-half stoppage time at Molineux.
Gray was eventually stretchered off after receiving several minutes of on-field treatment and was seen leaving the stadium wearing a protective boot.
However, Foxes medical staff are confident he only sprained the ankle rather than a break and should be back in action relatively soon.
The Englishman took to Instagram last night to thank supporters for their comments and post an update on the injury.
Gray moved to the King Power from Birmingham City in January 2016 and has improved significantly since, earning his first senior England call-up earlier this year.
He has started every Premier League match bar one this campaign and got on the scoresheet once, scoring the Foxes’ first in the 2-1 win at Southampton.
