Pressure on Puel as Rodgers rises as target
According to the Evening Times, Leicester could be prepared to sack Claude Puel as Brendan Rodgers rises as a target for the Foxes.
Like his spell at Southampton, Puel’s stint has been criticised for the cautious brand of football which he adopts to his teams.
Puel has not been underperforming at Leicester but the owners will be prepared to let Puel go, especially when you take into consideration that they sacked Claudio Ranieri the year after he won them the title.
Rodgers has obviously managed in the Premier League before with Swansea and Liverpool, where he succeeded at Swansea, but he couldn’t rise up to the high expectations at Anfield, apart from that famous 2013/14 season where they slipped up in the title race on the final hurdle.
At Leicester, expectations will be in the middle of Swansea and Liverpool and he could fit in very well at the King Power, but it will be hard to get him away from The Hoops.
Newcaslte are also intersted in Rodgers.
