Sporting CP are keen to step up their efforts to secure a double move for Leicester City duo Adrien Silva and Islam Slimani, according to reports in Portugal.

It is believed that the Liga NOS outfit are looking to move swiftly ahead with their preparations for the January transfer window as they continue to push for the Portuguese league title.

This has, according to recent claims, led them to eye two familiar faces, with Foxes pair Silva and Slimani allegedly lined up for returns.

Sporting are understood to be in the midst of an injury crisis among their midfielders, which has left them keen to quickly recruit a new reinforcement in January.

Record, as translated by Sport Witness, have indicated that this has prompted them to pursue Portugal international Silva, who has found first-team football hard to come by this season under Claude Puel.

Fenerbahce loanee Slimani, meanwhile, has been targeted by Sporting with the club out to bolster their forward options ahead of the second half of the season.

Should Leicester let the pair leave in January?
