Leicester City crashed out of the FA Cup at the third round stage after Newport County defeated them 2-1 at Rodney Parade.
The Foxes were strong favourites heading into the fixture but the League Two side came out on top after a spirited performance.
Jamille Matt handed the hosts a shock lead after just 10 minutes and Newport continued to snuff out any danger from Claude Puel’s men for the majority of the match.
However, Leicester clawed their way back into the game courtesy of a thumping strike from Rachid Ghezzal in the 82nd minute.
The visitors were trailing again soon after, though, as Marc Albrighton gave away a penalty just minutes later. Padraig Among stepped up and coolly dispatched the spot-kick, handing Newport a famous victory.
Here are our player ratings for the Foxes.
Danny Ward - 5
Little chance with either goal. Let down by a poor defence.
Danny Simpson - 3
Simpson looked out of his depth against League Two opposition.
Wes Morgan - 4
Morgan worked hard but was less than convincing at the back.
Jonny Evans - 5
Evans used the ball well but wasn’t particularly imposing at the back.
Christian Fuchs - 5
Worked hard but struggled to influence the game down the left flank.
Hamza Choudhury - 5
Kept play ticking over. Was on the ball a lot but didn’t do a great deal.
Matt James - 5
Handed a rare chance to impress but did little to showcase his talents.
Rachid Ghezzal - 5
Struggled until netting a fine goal. Never looks convincing and runs out of ideas quickly.
Shinji Okazaki - 3
Anonymous. It was no surprise to see him hauled off.
Marc Albrighton - 4
It wasn’t for the want of trying, but Albrighton struggled. Inexplicably raised his arms, leading to Newport’s late penalty.
Kelechi Iheanacho - 2
Offered absolutely nothing up front. A really poor showing.
James Maddison – 6: Worked hard and looked to create chances. His end-product was lacking.
Demarai Gray – 5: Tried to test Newport but his efforts were to be of no avail.
Andy King – 5: Some nice touches but King had little influence.
