Fulham are lining up a move for Leicester City defender Christian Fuchs, according to reports.
The 32-year old left-back played under current Fulham boss Claudio Ranieri during the Foxes Premier League winning 2015-16 season, and reports suggest the Italian coach is keen to reunite with the former Austria international.
The Leicester Mercury, who cite Sky Sports, claim that Ranieri has named Fuchs as a key defensive target to ensure the Cottagers stave off the drop to the Championship.
Fulham have endured a disappointing start to the season, with London side have struggled for consistent performances among its backline, which has caused Ranieri to target more experienced defenders this month.
Fuchs has also been linked with Aston Villa, who are pushing for promotion back to the Premier League this campaign.
A move for the Austrian would only be a temporary solution for the Cottagers however, with Fuchs intending on moving to the United States at the end of the season, where his family live.
Fuchs is keen to play in the MLS, but also harbours the audacious ambition to become a kicker in the NFL.
