Manchester City are eyeing a summer move for Leicester City starlet Ben Chilwell, the Evening Standard reports.

City boss Pep Guardiola is keen to recruit another left-back in the summer to cover for injury-stricken Benjamin Mendy.

Mendy has been included in City’s travelling squad for their Carabao Cup semi-final second leg clash with Burton Albion on Wednesday as he looks to make a comeback from his latest injury woes.

Mendy secured a move to the Etihad Stadium in the summer of 2017 in a £49m move from Ligue 1’s Monaco. However, the defender has spent the majority of his time in Manchester on the sidelines with several injuries.

Guardiola is eyeing up a summer move for Chilwell to cover for the reoccurring injuries that the 24-year-old is suffering from.

Chilwell broke through at Leicester last season and has since been called up to the England senior squad.

City have been regularly keeping tabs on the 21-year-old and could make a big-money bid for his services in the summer.
