Eduardo Macia already ‘working on deals’ for Bordeaux
Leicester City’s head of scouting Eduardo Macia has been heavily linked with a move across the Channel to become Bordeaux’s new director of football for nothing short of a year now, but he’s still in England.
The French club’s change of ownership in the summer boosted speculation that Macia would be one of a group of new staff and the talk does not seem to be going away any time soon.
Despite still working for Leicester, the Spaniard has been ‘working on a few deals’ for Bordeaux ahead of a potential summer swap, according to RMC Sport journalist Nicolas Paolorsi.
Reliable Twitter account Girondinfos claimed that he was behind Josh Maja’s €4 million move from Sunderland last month whilst doing business alongside Claude Puel with the Foxes.
Paolordsi reports that Macia is ‘gravitating’ towards a move to Ligue 1 but remained at the 2015-16 Premier League champions for the January transfer window.
Only time will tell where his future lies, but he’ll certainly need a worthy replacement if he does pull the trigger on a move to the South of France.
