Leicester City are reportedly in the hunt to sign Napoli target Valentino Lazaro from Hertha Berlin this summer.
According to comments from Sport Mediaset reporter Raffaele Auriemma, relayed by Italian news outlet Calcio Napoli 24, the Foxes are among the clubs who are keen on signing the player following his form this season.
Lazaro has been impressive for Hertha Berlin, and it seems a race for his signature this summer is well and truly on.
Napoli, according to Auriemma, have already been in contact with the Austrian international’s representative but could face competition from Premier League clubs such as Leicester and Everton.
Lazaro’s agent is talking to Napoli… The price is very high. Hertha Berlin asks for €30m, but for €25m you can take him away.
There are Premier League clubs who follow him, particularly Everton and Leicester, who continually observe him during Hertha’s home games.
The asking price of €25 million could deter potential suitors from making a summer swoop for Lazaro, but it seems interest in signing him is gathering ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
Leicester face a big summer, with Brendan Rodgers likely to be keen on adding to the first-team squad ahead of his first full season in charge at the King Power Stadium.
Why Lazaro would be a good signing for Leicester
Lazaro is capable of playing in a creative attacking role, primarily on the right-hand side, but is also able to operate at right-back.
The best is undoubtedly still to come from Lazaro. He’s 23-years-old and has plenty to give.
Lazaro is an athletic player who is blessed with pace on the half-turn, which would suit Brendan Rodgers’ style of play.
The manager relishes working with raw talents, and Lazaro fits the bill. He’d benefit from playing under the Foxes boss.
