Rodgers reveals interest in Maddison is “no surprise” to him
Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has revealed that interest in the midfielder is no surprise given his talent on the pitch.
The midfielder, who joined from Norwich City for £22 million in the Summer, has been one of the Foxes key players this season.
Maddison has seven goals and six assists to his name, and has attracted interest from several clubs over a potential move away this Summer.
However, Rodgers has assured Foxes fans that Maddison is happy at the King Power Stadium, and should stick around for the time being.
Rodgers said, via Sky Sports:
When they’re top talents, they’ll always create attention around them, but he’s very happy here. It’s his first season in the Premier League.
He’s been on a great journey as a young player, he’s now arrived at a fantastic club where the way we work and the style in which we play will suit his game and his qualities.
He will want to gain more experience in this league. He’s a fantastic talent, he works very, very hard at his game, has a very good idea of football, but works very, very hard.
He’s been a joy to work with since I’ve come and there are still a lot of improvements he will make.
Maddison is yet to make his full England debut, but was called up for the squad early on in the campaign.
The former Coventry City youngster had a breakout year with Norwich City last season, before making the switch to Leicester over the Summer.
