Leicester City are reportedly looking to make Youri Tielemans’ loan deal a permanent one after an impressive stint in the Premier League.
The Belgian has enjoyed a good second half of the season in Leicester’s midfield making 16 appearances and being involved in eight goals, cementing himself as one of the Foxes’ standout signings of the season arriving on loan.
According to the Metro, who cite claims from the Daily Star, Brendan Rodgers’ side have opened talks with the Ligue 1 outfit as they seek a permanent deal ahead of the new campaign.
It is likely that Monaco will be expecting around £40 million for the player, with his contract still having a couple of years left to run.
The Foxes will have to act quickly, however, as his talents have not gone unnoticed.
The report adds that several Premier League clubs, as well as Leicester City, are looking to land Tieleman’s signature, including Manchester United and Arsenal.
Rodgers expects the Leicester board to wrap things up quickly in order to keep the player in the Midlands and away from other Premier League rivals.
Tielemans helped his side to an impressive ninth-place finish after drawing against Chelsea in the final game of the season on Sunday.
