Manchester United have reportedly made a £45 million bid for Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic as they look for alternatives to Leicester’s Harry Maguire.
The Mirror say that reports in Italy claim that United have bid for the Serbian defender, as they look to strengthen their defence ahead of the new Premier League season.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have been chasing Harry Maguire for a while now, but Leicester have remained firm that the defender is not for sale.
United remain confident in a deal for Maguire still, with Man City now out of the chase to sign the England international.
City are not prepared to pay a world record fee for Maguire, meaning that Pep Guardiola will not be making any move for the Leicester City centre back.
However, United are ready to improve their defence, and could still go in for a move for Maguire.
United had a bid last January rejected for MIlenkovic, but look likely to try again this Summer with the £45 million bid.
The defender has impressed in Italy, and could be set to join United.
