Leicester City get their new season under way as Premier League action returns to the King Power Stadium on Sunday afternoon as they take on Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Brendan Rodgers’ side will be looking to continue their pre-season form to begin their league campaign.
The Foxes managed to go undefeated through pre-season, including a win over Champion’s League opposition in Atalanta. Sunday’s opponents, however, present a tough challenge themselves.
Wolves had a fantastic first season back in the top flight, finishing in seventh place. A position that will be a target for Rodgers to achieve.
Leicester have strengthened over the summer, bringing back Youri Tielemans on a permanent basis, as well as the signings of Ayoze Perez and Dennis Praet.
Losing Harry Maguire to Manchester United may have an affect on the side’s defence, although it seems Leicester prepared for his departure a year ago, signing a pair of young centre-backs in Caglar Soynucu and Filip Benkovic.
Here’s how we predict Leicester will line-up:
GK: Kasper Schmeichel
Leicester’s number one started every league game last season and there is no reason why he won’t be starting on Sunday.
RB: Ricardo Pereira
Ricardo was Leicester’s Player of the Season in the last campaign. The impressive attacking full-back is sure to start.
CB: Jonny Evans
While it was Harry Maguire who got the big-money move this summer. It was Evans who was actually Leicester’s best centre-back last season.
CB: Caglar Soyuncu
Soyuncu has some big boots to fill, but the Turkish international plays in a similar style to Maguire, and may slot in nicely to Leicester’s back-line.
LB: Ben Chilwell
Chilwell showed much improvement last season, now an England international, Rodgers will be hoping the young full-back will continue to impress.
DM: Hamza Choudhury
Due to Wilfred Ndidi’s involvement in the Africa Cup of Nations, Choudhury may be called into action. Choudhury showed good flashes when he was used last season with his relentless energy and intensity.
CM: Youri Tielemans
Signing Tielemans permanently was the biggest wish Leicester fans had going into the summer transfer window. Tielemans looked like a star in his loan spell at the King Power stadium and should be one of Leicester’s biggest creators this season.
CM: James Maddison
Maddison had a very impressive first season in the Premier League. Creating the most chances in the league and also scoring a league-high three free-kicks.
RW: Ayoze Perez
It looks as though Perez will be utilised on the wing, a position where he scored most of his goals from for Newcastle last season.
ST: Jamie Vardy
Vardy is undoubtedly Leicester’s number one option upfront.
LW: Marc Albrighton
Albrighton and Harvey Barnes seem the two who will be fighting for this position. However, it look like it will be Albrighton who starts the season on the left after a good string of performances in pre-season.
