Leicester City maintain their unbeaten start to the season after a comfortable 3-1 win over Bournemouth at King Power stadium.
It was a game that Leicester dominated and really could have bagged a few more goals than they ultimately did.
The Foxes took the lead early on after an excellent lofted finish from Jamie Vardy to score in back-to-back league games.
It didn’t take long for the visitors to reply though, as the Leicester defence turned off,. A good run from striker Callum Wilson got him behind the Foxes back-line and he finished coolly into the bottom corner.
The home side however were looking the more threatening. Just before half-time City took the lead again, after a determined run from Vardy got him to the edge of the six yard box to poke a ball through to Youri Tielemans, who stuck out a foot for his first goal of the season.
Leicester looked even more dominant in the second-half, and it was Tielemans who returned the favour to Vardy to double the advantage of Brendan Rodger’s side.
A precise ball through from the Belgian found the Leicester striker who buried the chance well to make it three goals in two.
Leicester showed excellent game management after making it 3-1 and comfortably held on to earn their second victory in the league and climb to third in the table as things stand.
Here is how we rated the Leicester players:
Kasper Schmeichel - 6.5
Schmeichel was a spectator for much of the game. But his distribution was good.
Ricardo Pereira - 7
Ricardo defended well and made some good runs forward, but couldn’t quite find the final ball.
Jonny Evans - 7
Evans was solid at the back and got in the way of everything that came through his channel.
Caglar Soyuncu - 7.5
Soyuncu put in another composed performance. Comfortable in possession, he did brilliantly in bringing the ball out of the back.
Ben Chilwell - 7.5
Chilwell got the assist for the opener and defended well throughout.
Wilfred Ndidi - 7
Ndidi once again got to everything in front of the Leicester defence.
Youri Tielemans - 8
Tielemans looked more like himself from last season as Leicester’s formation reverted to the 4-1-4-1 we saw last campaign. An excellent performance from the young midfielder getting a goal and an assist.
James Maddison - 7.5
Maddison looked much more at home back in a central role and showed his danger when finding pockets of space between Bournemouth defenders. He couldn’t find the killer ball this afternoon, but his link up play was very good.
Marc Albrighton - 7
Albrighton put in the effort that fans have come to expect from him. Some great crosses into the box too.
Jamie Vardy - 9
Vardy had a very impressive game. Two goals and an assist for the star striker, his pressing was also a constant problem for the opposition defenders.
Harvey Barnes - 6.5
Barnes didn’t make too much of an impact, but had a good effort saved.
Demarai Gray - 7
Gray looked good off the bench in his first appearance of the season. He showed good quick feet and almost got an assist to Vardy after a skilful run.
Hamza Choudhury - 6.5
Choudhury came on as Leicester tried to close the game out and he did his job well.
Christian Fuchs - N/a
Was a late substitute.
