A stoppage-time penalty denied Leicester City a point at Anfield as Liverpool claimed a 2-1 win.
The first-half saw the league leaders dominate possession and the visiting Foxes were barely able to get a sniff of goal.
City went behind on the verge of half-time when a ball from deep in his own half by Andy Robertson found its way past Jonny Evans into the path of Sadio Mane, who had the composure to finish past Kasper Schmeichel.
Leicester had defended well up until the goal and had been enjoying a good spell of pressure in the Liverpool half. So would have be disappointed to go into the break a goal down.
Brendan Rodgers side got a lot more of the ball in the second-half and began to threaten the hosts more frequently.
With ten minutes to go, Leicester found their equaliser through James Maddison. An excellent turn and touch from substitute Ayoze Perez set the young midfielder up to score past Adrian.
It looked as though Leicester would be able to hold on for a draw, but in the final minute of stoppage-time a clumsy touch from Marc Albrighton gave the ball away in his own box and then proceeded to stick a foot out and catch Mane to concede a late penalty.
James Milner stepped up and placed the penalty perfectly out of Schmeichel’s reach to keep Liverpool’s winning streak alive.
Here is how we rated the Leicester players:
Kasper Schmeichel - 7.5
Schmeichel was called into action on several occasions and pulled of a number of good stops.
Ricardo Pereira - 7
Pereira defended well throughout and looked dangerous on the ball.
Jonny Evans - 7
Evans put in another solid display at the back. He was inches away from intercepting the pass for the opener and wasn’t caught out of position again.
Caglar Soyuncu - 7.5
Soyuncu did a fantastic job of keeping Salah quiet. The young defender read the game excellently.
Ben Chilwell - 5.5
Chilwell was poor in possession and gave the ball away countless times, wasting some good positions his side were in.
Wilfred Ndidi - 7
Ndidi was once again superb shielding the back-line. he carried the ball forwards well on a couple of occasions as well.
Dennis Praet - 6.5
Praet had another good game, his work rate was excellent throughout and was tidy in possession.
Youri Tielemans - 6.5
Tielemans struggled to get going, particularly in the first-half when Leicester were unable to keep hold of possession. He played a few nice passes and did a decent job defensively.
Harvey Barnes - 5.5
Barnes was ineffective for much of the first-half and was substituted at half-time for Albrighton.
James Maddison - 8
Maddison got the goal that gave Leicester hope of a point and was probably his sides biggest threat in possession.
Jamie Vardy - 6
Vardy didn’t get much to work with and the best chance he got on a ball from Alrbighton was wasted with a poor touch. He pressed the Liverpool back-line well as he usually does.
Subs: Marc Albrighton - 6
Albrighton started the half well after coming on from the break, putting an great ball in behind for Vardy. He worked hard defensively and always looked to put a ball into a dangerous area. However, his clumsy touch and challenge in his own box in added time was unfortunately the deciding moment in the match.
Ayoze Perez - 7
Perez added a spark to the Leicester attack after coming off the bench. His touch and ball through to Maddison was superb.
Hamza Choudhury - 6.5
Choudhury came on as a late substitute to try and close the game out for Leicester.
