Tottenham have recently been linked with a move for Leicester City striker Islam Slimani.

However, the news hasn’t gone down well with a section of Spurs supporters.

According to the Telegraph, the Foxes are ‘braced’ for interest from Jose Mourinho’s side after they listed Slimani on a list of possible attacking targets.

The report claims that Mourinho wants a striker following Harry Kane’s injury, and after looking at the French market, has Slimani on his radar.

But when well-known Spurs reporter @RickySpur shared the Telegraph’s claims on social media, it didn’t sit well with these Tottenham fans.

It’s clear to see that plenty of Tottenham supporters wouldn’t be happy if Slimani made the move to north London, but really, if the funds aren’t there for Mourinho this month, it could be a shrewd option.

The 31-year-old has scored seven goals and provided seven assists in 13 Ligue 1 appearances this season, an impressive return for a forward who has only scored nine Leicester goals during his three-and-a-half-year stint under contract at the King Power.

We feel that from Leicester’s point of view, they shouldn’t entertain any deal for the Algeria international.

A successful season-long loan at Monaco could possibly turn into a permanent one, which hopefully, could see the Foxes recoup some of the £29m they paid Sporting Lisbon for his services back in 2016.
