The agent of Leicester-linked Habib Diallo has revealed in an interview with Senegal’s APS, translated by Sport Witness, that Tottenham made an approach for his client in January.

The Metz forward has been linked with a move to the Foxes as well as Chelsea, Crystal Palace and Leeds and his agent revealed in the interview that although he’s under contract with Metz until 2022, Diallo does have the ability to leave the club this summer if a suitable bid is made.

Whether Leicester, Spurs or any of the other clubs are still interested in the 25-year-old given recent events remains to be seen.

Given the recent global events, it’s not quite clear if Leicester do intend to sign a new forward this summer as there are so many unknowns.

If they are, then it appears that Diallo will be available to them, should they choose to go after him.

With 12 goals and three assists from just 26 games for Metz in the curtailed Ligue 1 season, Diallo’s record suggests he could be a decent backup option for club legend Jamie Vardy.
