BeIN Sports’ Eric Krakauer has claimed that Leicester City and Leeds United are among a host of clubs interested in signing Danny Rose from Tottenham Hotspur.

The Foxes and newly-promoted Leeds will also face competition from Newcastle United, where the left-back spent the second half of last season on loan.

Brendan Rodgers is in need of a new left-back after previous incumbent Ben Chilwell left the club for Chelsea this week in a move worth around £50million.

Rose has been capped 29 times by England and is reportedly open to offers ahead of the 2020/21 campaign as it seems he is not part of Jose Mourinho’s plans once again.

Despite falling down the pecking order at the North London club, Rose has been a top drawer player in the past, making the PFA Team of the Year twice.

One stumbling block in Rodgers’ pursuit could be Rose’s roots. The Yorkshire born left-back began his career at Leeds United before switching to Spurs in 2007 and he may well fancy a return to Elland Road.

A player of Rose’s experience and quality could be a welcome replacement for the outgoing Chilwell. Despite his stock perhaps not being as high as it once was, Rose is still only 30 years old and still has bags of playing time left at the top level and with the delayed European Championships taking place next summer, he will want to do all he can to be selected by Gareth Southgate for the tournament.
