Leicester City have been boosted by the news that Jordan Henderson could miss their Premier League clash with Liverpool this weekend.

The Foxes make the trip to the reigning champions on Sunday evening, looking to keep up their table-topping form.

Brendan Rodgers has a number of injury problems to contend with, but the same applies to Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool are definitely without Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Mohamed Salah, while Fabinho and Thiago could also miss out.

According to the Times‘ Paul Joyce, Henderson will be another absentee, as he struggles to overcome a groin injury.

Henderson has become a hugely influential player at Liverpool, growing in stature after a tough start to become a superb captain.

He brings drive and leadership to the team, so his likely absence is another positive for Leicester.

While Liverpool will still be able field a strong team at Anfield, featuring the likes of Alisson, Gini Wijnaldum and Sadio Mane, among others, this has to be seen as a great chance for the Foxes.

Victory for Rodgers’ men wouldn’t only be a major signal of intent, but it would also prevent the Reds from setting a club record of 64 home league matches unbeaten.
