Leicester join race to sign Ainsley Maitland-Niles on loan
Leicester City are interested in signing Arsenal star Ainsley Maitland-Niles on loan on deadline day, according to Sky Sports.
The 23-year-old could exit the Gunners, having been limited in playing time under Mikel Arteta this season. Leicester are believed to be one of several Premier League clubs eyeing a late deal for Maitland-Niles, along with Southampton and West Brom (Sky Sports).
The Foxes have reportedly ‘held talks’ with the Englishman over a move, with Brendan Rodgers interested in adding depth to his midfield. However, as per Sky Sports, the move could be complicated by Arsenal’s reluctance to strengthen another Premier League club pushing for a European berth.

Maitland-Niles would be an interesting signing by Leicester, with the youngster a player with undoubted pedigree. He would not only provide midfield cover, but his versatility means he can also do a job at full-back.
Rodgers has proven to be adept at getting the most out of young British players down the years, whether it be Raheem Sterling, James Maddison or Harvey Barnes, to name just a few.
A move to the King Power Stadium could also be hugely beneficial to the player as he looks to force his way into England’s Euro 2020 squad this summer.
